Atlanta 34 New Orleans 14

Atlanta after losing 1st game of the battle for the South, Atlanta played a hard hitting strong
Terrence Mathis
game on D and a clean game on O, to get a split on the season series.

New Orleans took their opening drive to the house taking up 6 minutes as Everett hit Small from 4 yards out. New Orleans would answer right back and a George to Rison 20 yard strike ties game at 7. Then Atlanta's D stepped up big.  First stopping a NO drive with a big interception inside the Atlanta 20. Atlanta with momentum on their side go for a 4th down play deep in NO territory but NO stops Heyward for a 2 yard loss.  Everett on the very next play is picked off again by Ross who returns it to the 2, and this time the Atlanta O makes it count. Atlanta on next drive scores again as George hits Mathis for a 51 yard TD pass.  New Orleans then drives in final 2 minutes of half to get a huge TD as Everett hits Early on a 33 yard slant and at half it is Atlanta 21-14.
The second half was all Atlanta's. Atlanta took opening drive and kicked a Field Goal. Then New Orleans fumbled away the kick return.  Atlanta sensing blood goo 33 yards on 4 plays and get a Heyward TD run to go up 31-14, and basically end game.
