Denver 27 Houston 23

John Elway
great  game called  by  both teams lead changed 3 times but Oilers fell behind 24-10 by the 4th quarter. Oiler made a furious come back and game was not decided until  the last play  Elway was great at 123.8 rate  Chandler was good at 86.7 rate.  Game  ended when Oiler defense stopped the Broncos cold at mid field and forced them into a punting situation with 3 min left in the 4th. Oilers were snke bitten by a roughing the Kicker pen.  which ended the contest.

Washington 38 Philadelphia 27

Henry Ellard catches 3 TD passes and leads Washington over Philly

Buffalo 24 New England 7

In a very well played game between these 2 teams which was a surprise, Bills just finished more drives. Only 1 turnover for both teams and that was a Kelly pick on a half ending Hail Mary. So long from windy Buffalo

New Orleans 45 Carolina 14

New Orleans broke open a tie game at halftime with 3 long scoring drives and 2 touchdowns off of turnovers to rout visiting Carolina, 45-14.  Jim Everett threw 3 touchdown passes, Mario Bates rushed for 96yds and one touchdown, and Tyrone Legette scored on a 50yd pick six to help complete the blowout.

Cincinnati 24 Jacksonville 21

Well, for the 1st time this season, I feel like the Jags are trending up, and for the 1st time all season, I feel like the coaching cost this team the win.

I had an incredibly hot quarterback, for some unknown reason, as Beuerline played for the injured Brunell, and he completed his first eleven passes; on the day, 31-for-39 for 367.  QBR of 101.6

Granted he did throw a deadly pick driving down to tie the game, down 24-21 late in Q4 on a 3rd-and-3 play, but that was not the ballgame.

The Cincy pass rush is strong so we often kept the back in blocking and many times the TE as well.  Jax even had its best WR hurth this game, Willie Jackson.  Givens, Desmond Howard and Smith all contributed.

Jax scored the game's first 2 TD's...taking a 14-0 lead, only to see Cincy score the next 24.  Just could not recover....exacerbated by.....

...... my stupidity for having Jimmy Smith, WR with very little contribution on offense in this 1995 season, continue to return kickoffs.  He had 24 in real life, he was at 41 heading into this game.  (checked midgame as it was too late) I was not aware that you can be "TIRED" from only returning kicks for a living, so Smith's contribution to my Jags KR efforts were three 10 yard returns, one of them a lost fumble leading to a TD for Cincy.

Frank called a good game.  Pickens is a beast as a wideout.  He managed Jeff Blake thru a bad game.  But I think I blew this one.

Atlanta 24 Arizona 21

Atlanta survives a big scare as Defense rescues a stuttering offense. George was under 50% completion rate, Metcalf caught only 8 of 17 passes and fumbled away ball 2x (3 fumbles in all). Atlanta's 1st half possessions, turnover on downs, TD, punt, fumble, INT, turnover on downs! Yikes. Thankfully Atlanta's D held Arizona to 3 FG's and also 2 turnovers. Sloppy 1st half ends 9-7 Arizona.
2nd half teams play a bit better offensively. Atlanta takes the 2nd half kick off and drive for a quick 5 play TD, and a 14-9 lead.  Arizona comes right back and drive 80 yards in 9 minutes to retake the lead.  They do not convert the 2 pt conversion and lead 15-14.  Atlanta's metcalf once again fumbles away the ball . Arizona takes over from the Atlanta 48 and drive to the 3.  The drive stalls and Arizona kicks a FG for a 4 point lead.  Atlanta again turn the ball over on downs and again Arizona drives and settle for their 5th FG and a 7 point lead.  Atlanta now in semi urgent mode get the ball with just over 8 minutes left.  They drive to the Arizona 9 but finally decide to play safe and kick a FG to cut lead to 4 with just over 3 minutes left. Atlanta then surprise Arizona and recover the onside kick. Atlanta drive and George hits metcalf from 9 yards out with just over a minute and Atlanta goes on to win 24-21, and go to 9-3 on season.
Next week Arizona hosts division rival NY Giants, while Atlanta travels to Miami to play the AFC East leading Dolphins.

St. Louis 33 New Orleans 28

Atlanta 35 Detroit 17

Don Majkoswki
Detroit comes out with Majkowski at QB, surprising the Falcons who zone in on Barry Sanders. Majik prooves he still has an arm going 6 for 6 on opening drive finishing with a crisp 22 yard TD to Perriman.  Atlanta drive themselves but George panics on a blitz and tosses an INT.  The Atlanta D then begin to figure out Majkowski and hold Detroit to 3 and out.  George on the other side begins to use all his weapons and twice convert 4th downs, the final a goal line dive from Heyward to tie game. The game basically swings on the following 2 possessions for each team. Detroit is forced to punt both times, and both times Atlanta gets TD passes from George to Mathis (10+16 yards). Detroit bring in Mitchell and with only 35 seconds left in the half he throws deep but is picked off and returned to the 28. Just 2 plays later George throws a 23 yard strike to Bert Emmanual and Atlanta goes into the locker room up 28-7.
Atlanta gets the ball to start 2nd half but have to punt. Detroit then goes on a nice 9 minute drive but stall on the Atlanta 7 and get the FG to cut lead to 28-10. After both teams punt, Atlanta drive one more time slowly using up game clock and early in the 4th Heyward rumbles in from 7. Detroit comes right back and Mitchell hits Moore from 7 yards out . Detroit onside kick fails, and Atlanta is able to run off the final 7:30 minutes; getting to the Detroit 8 at the 2 minute mark.  George then takes 3 kneels to run out the clock.

next week Atlanta travels to the deep North to face Buffalo...Atlanta is already fearing the COLD , while Detroit goes home to host Tampa Bay.

Houston 23 Cleveland 6

Blaine Bishop
Houston S Blaine Bishop returned a first half interception 50yds to the Cleveland 1 and he later returned a 4th quarter fumble 49yds for a touchdown to give the Oilers all of the points they needed to knock off the struggling Browns, 23-6.

Cincinnati 43 Oakland 19

1995 Bengals 43(Joey Scigliano)....Raiders 19(Mohammed Abdullah)

Jeff Blake had a fine day passing as he tossed for 364 yards and 4 touchdowns.  Tight end Tony McGee hauled in 7 balls for 108 yards. Carl Pickens caught 8 pigskins for 86 yards and Darnay Scott took in 6 for 97. Bengals improve to 6-3.

San Francisco 21 Carolina 10

49ers with a big fumble recovery TD right before the half and the D played very well to hang on for the "W".   21 - 10 49ers

Miami 41 Buffalo 38 OT

Pete Stoyanovich
Miami edges visiting Bills on a Stoyanovich 32 yard FG in OT. Bills gained 477 yards in total offense to 360 for the home team. Jim Kelly went 30/40 414 4TD'S. Dan Marino not to be outdone was 22/32 287 4TD'S. Not much defense played for sure. Good Night from South Beach, I sure can't afford to party here.

Sunday, November 9, 2014

Cincinnati 30 Cleveland 3

Jeff Blake threw for 260 yards with a pair of touchdowns (18, 38 yards) to Darnay Scott for the win in the Battle of Ohio.  Brown quarterback Eric Zeier had a tough day as he was picked off twice. Bengals end their losing streak and improve to 5-3. Cleveland sinks to 6-2 but still on top of the competitive AFC Central.

Pittsburgh 26 Jacksonville 8

Pittsburgh 26  Jax 8            wasn't that close for sure

This one was alot of fun for Jax Jags fans.
  • Jax amazing kicking game constantly gives Pitt field position beginning drives at midfield.
  • Jax constantly fields 5's 4's and even a 3 on the defensive front 7
  • Brunell is Brutall again  22-39-184
  • Brunell throws a redzone pick
  • Jax commits 7 penalties for 55....one time roughing the punter for a possession swing....another time a facemask call on a 3rd down hold.....and had 3 more penalties for 25 not accepted since the Pitt play was for more than the penalty....doesn't sound like a Tom Coughlin coached team
  • Jax misses 8 tackles, drops 3 pass, threw 2 more bad passes

......and my favorite, Brunell is sacked 9 times by a very nice Pittsburgh defense, 5 alone by Mr. Seals....who also had a Forced Fumble, a Stuff and a Hurry....glad we could oblige his Pro-Bowl push.

For Pitt, Erric Pegram was the story, picking up 125 on the ground and catching 3 more

Needless to say, we are very much looking forward to Jacksonville's rapid improvement thru the balance of the decade.....cause right now its f'in painful.

Carolina 9 New Orleans 6

John Kasay
John Kasay's 3 field goals were all the scoring the Panthers could muster, but it was enough to hold off the visiting Saints, 9-6 in a classic defensive struggle.  Derrick Moore was the only offensive highlight for Carolina, gaining 97yds on the ground.  Jim Everett completed 24 of 44 for 244yds for New Orleans, but his interception in the final seconds when the Saints were in field goal range, sealed the win for the Panthers.

Jacksonville 14 Cleveland 13

Mark Brunell scored on a 1yd sneak with 0:20sec remaining, then threw a 2yd pass to Willie Jackson for the 2 point conversion to give the Jags a 14-13 win over Cleveland.  Brunell completed 20 of 34 passes for 212 yards on the day.  Next week, Jacksonville heads to Pittsburgh to play the Steelers and Cleveland travels to Cincinnati to face the Bengals.

Atlanta 34 Tampa Bay 19

Craig "Iron Head" Heyward
Atlanta heads from their dome to Tampa and find rain and a gusting 20mph wind waiting for them. Tampa takes the opening KO and move the ball on a couple of Dilfer to jackie Harris plays, and a nice Eric Rhett run, and defensive face mask.  The Falcon D, would , as it did most of the game, bend but not break.  Tampa going into the wind then missed the 35 yard field goal. Jeff George with the wind behind him came out throwing, hitting his 3 passes on drive, the payoff a 35 yard catch and run to Metcalf. Tampa again drove into Falcon territory but from the 33 had to punt. Atlanta would go on a 7 minute drive ending with a Morten Andersen 42 yard FG (into the wind). On the very next play from scrimmage Dilfer gets picked by Ross and he returns the pick to the house, and up 17-0, Atlanta seems in control. Tampa then however swings momentum going their own long drive but like before, have to settle for a FG attempt from 39 yards, which is good.  Atlanta then goes 3 ad out and then shank a punt.  Tampa again drives deep but settle for another FG.  Atlanta 17-6 at half.
Second half and Atlanta again has trouble moving into the wind.  Tampa following the pattern drive but again need to settle for 3. Atlanta goes 3 and out again and Tampa keeping to form drive the field.  This time they get a 1st and goal from the 4 and by 3rd down have it at the 1. A huge hit on an Eric Rhett dive loses the Bucs a yard and for the 5th time they have to go for 3 and for the 4th time it is good!! Atlanta lead is now down to 5. Atlanta then methodically run the clock out in the 3rd and begin the 4th with the wind behind them and quickly George goes to work.  He hits Emanuel for 9, then Metcalf for 26 and then Heyword for 16 and a TD. Dilfer quickly proves you can throw into this wind hitting Copeland on a long fly for 54 yards. Then Dawsey for 15 and down to the Atlanta 11.  Eric Rhett determined to get more than 3, rumbles for 8 then 3 yards and a TD.  Once again Tampa has gotten to within 5. Atlanta with the wind has no problem moving the ball and while playing the clock drive for another TD; this one on a Heyward sweep from 4. Atlanta 31-19. Tampa has to punt but pin Atlanta at their 18.  The falcons trying to salt game away almost implode.  George is sacked on 1st down and a motion penalty puts the ball at the Atl 8. Facing a 3rd and 16 , George gambles and hits Emanuel in stride for a 23 yard gain and is only tackled via a face mask and another 15 yards. Atlanta then go ground and with 1:30 left Andersen kicks a 46 yard FG to make it a 3 score game.
next week Atlanta hosts the NFC East leading Cowboys, while Tampa heads to Houston.

Pittsburgh 25 Cincinnati 7

Bengals offense was overwhelmed by a tough Steeler defense. Jeff Blake had a tough time completing passes or even moving the ball for that matter. Pittsburgh takes over the lead in the AFC Central as they improve to 5-2.

Arizona 19 Washington 16

Cards 19   Redskins 16--    Rain soaked field in 87 degree temps  made  for an odd game.  Rookie coach Roman lead  his team to a 10-0 lead into the 2nd quarter before Cards struck back with a TD strike before the half for a 10-7 halftime Skins lead.  The biggest  play of the game for the Cards came midway through the 3rd quarter with an end around which  gained 36 yards and set up the 2nd TD for them. Washington stopped the Cards cold inside the 5 yard line and forced the Cards to settle for a FG and an 17-10 lead halfway through the 4th period. Coach Roman sent his team down the field and scorred a TD with less then 3 min. left making the score 17-16  going for the win Skins failed on a 2 point covertion  forcing a failed onside kick. The Cards could  not bleed the full clock down and had to punt away. The Skins moved the ball well but the clock ran out to end the rain fest!  All QBs played well as the Cards tried out two. Coach Roman  in a statement to the Washington Post said " those shovel passes by Arizona caused   more troubles for Washington then Bill Clinton and Richard Nixon  ever did  on their best days"

Seattle 24 Buffalo 10

Seahawks fly into blustery Buffalo and whip up on the Bills 24-10. According to some unconfirmed reports, the Bills team spent too much time at Dominik Hasek's Wing Shack the night before the game and it showed. Buffalo had 291 total offense to 287 for the visitors but 2 Kelly picks and a critical loss on a 4th and goal sneak by Kelly proved to be to much for the home team to overcome. Good Night and BTW doesn't some Wings and draught's sound really good. Yum

Green Bay 20 Detroit 17 OT

Chris Jacke
Brett Favre worked the two minute drill to perfection lead the Packers on a 1:38 73 yards, 13 play drive to tie the game at 17-17 with 30 seconds left.  Green Bay then won the toss in OT and drove to the Lions 3 yard line before Chris Jacke booted a 20 yard field goal for the victory.  Favre completed 30 passes for 413 yards and 2 TDs to lead the Green Bay.

Atlanta 31 St. Louis 7

Jeff George came out on fire and throwing, as he throws 3 TD passes on Falcon's 1st 3 possessions ( Emanuel 45 yards, Heywood 15 yards and Metcalf 45 yards). Tuggle then picked off Miller on the Rams next series and returned it 47 yards for another TD and basically that was it.

New Orleans 36 Miami 14

The Saints Defense Intercepted Miami backup QB Bernie Kosar 5 times as New Orleans wins big at home in the Superdome 36 to 14. Next week the Saints travel to Carolina to face the Panthers and the Dolphins travel to the Meadowlands to play the Jets.

Saturday, October 25, 2014

Carolina 34 NY Jets 17

Derrick Moore
Carolina took advantage of 3 New York turnovers and untimely penalties to grab a 20-0 lead at halftime.  The Jets turned things around in the 2nd half with some big plays to pull within 27-17, and they were inside the Carolina 40 on two straight drives, but were turned back on both occasions when backup QB Bubby Brister was intercepted.  Derrick Moore was the game MVP with 111yds on the ground and 2 touchdowns.  Next week, the Jets return home to host rival Miami while the Panthers entertain division foe New Orleans.

Tuesday, October 21, 2014

Dallas 29 Green Bay 26

Emmitt Smith crashed into the endzone with 10 seconds left to give Dallas a 29-26 win. Aikman led the Cowboys on a 14-play 60 yard drive with :10 remaining to keep the Cowboys in first place.

Monday, October 20, 2014

New England 37 Denver 35

Great game where NE gets their first W of the season on a Matt Bahr 45 yd FG into a 25 MPH wind as time expired.  Curtis Martin was the MVP with 187 rushing yds and 3 TD's - two on the ground and one receiving.

Great game called by Bill that game down to the last play.

Sunday, October 19, 2014

Pittsburgh 29 Jacksonville 20

Its a pretty good game, back-and-forth, Jax/Pitt tied at 13-13 with 2 minutes
Ernie Mills
left in Q3.

Feels like Pitt is dominating a bit, when every rushing play with Pegram nets 4-6 yards, but Jax is hanging tough.

Pitt keeps committing penalties and finds themselves with a 3rd-and-24 backed up at their own 2 yard line.  So Jax calls man-to-man, 2 men in deep segment, pass, 2-4 Nickel formation, no doubleteams, etc....just want a short completion and get the ball back at approx midfield.

Ernie Mills grabs one from O'Donnell and goes 87 yards.  Pitt eventually scores on that drive and the deflated Jaguars drop yet another one.  Guess that is the 9 RAC shining through in all its glory vs my pathetic DB's

Pitt 29  Jax 20

Pitt to 4-2.  Jax to 1-5

Good game Keith.

Cleveland 27 Detroit 24

Detroit jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead and looked to run away with this one, but a fumbled interception return by Corey Raymond gave Cleveland new life.  The Browns then outscored the Lions 27-3 to take control of the game and they walked away with a 27-24 road win.  Vinny Testaverde threw for 297yds and 3 touchdowns to match the Lions Scott Mitchell who threw for 295yds and 3 touchdowns. Next week, Cleveland has a bye while Detroit travels to Green Bay to play the Packers.

Miami 37 Indianapolis 24

Indy plays well but has no answer for Marino who goes 29 of 31 for 352 and 1 TD.  Bernie Parmalee scores 3 TD.

Oakland 30 Seattle 20

Penalties, a characteristic usually associated with the Oakland Raiders, were the
Tim Brown
downfall of the Seattle Seahawks Sundy
night at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum as they fell to the Oakland Raiders, 30 - 20. At one point in the game, All-Pro tackle Cortez Kennedy was hit with 3 Roughing the Passer penalties in one drive that ultimately culminated in a Hostetler to Brown 4 yard touchdown pass and a Raider 23 - 10 halftime lead. The Seahawks were able to pull within 3 in the second half behind a strong running attack (Chris Warren: 21- 124) sharp passing by Rick Mirer (12 - 24, 132, 1Td) who finally awoke from an early first half slump. However, the Raiders were not to be denied as they utilized the clock on a 7 minute, 15 play, 86 yard drive to go up 30 - 20 late in the fourth quarter. A fumble by Steve Broussard on the subsequent kick return with 2:28 left on the clock was enough to essentially put the game out of reach for the Seahawks. Jeff Hostetler was game MVP with a 15 - 23, 172 yard day, including 4Tds, 3 of which were to All-Pro receiver Tim Brown (3 - 61, 20.3, 3Td). Next week the Seahawks (1 - 4) travel east to face the Buffalo Bills, while the 4 - 2 Raiders visit the Mile High City to face John Elway and the Denver Broncos.

Monday, October 13, 2014

Philadelphia 27 New Orleans 13

The Penalties and turnovers were too must for the Saints to over come as the They fall for the second week in a row.
Eagle RB Ricky Waters rushed for 120 yards on 29 carries and 1 TD as the Eagles defeat the Saints 27 - 13.
Next week the Saints have a Bye and the Eagles face Washington at home.

Houston 38 Jacksonville 13

This one was totally dominated by Houston.

Houston  OL run blocking       Center =9  LG=9  RG=8
Jax DL  defending                  3's and 4's   then injury   1's and 2's

Ugly.....every dive play seemed like a minimum of 5

Houston 38    Jax 13

Even time of possession for the teams, but Chandler with a QBR of 132.5 on 22-for-29 for 228 and 3 TD's is essentially Joe Montana.  Rodney Thomas is Larry Csonka with 19-for-113 up the gut.

Brunell is 12-for-22 with 2 picks and a whopping 117 yards passing.  He did run well, again, 14-for-88

Both teams move to 1-4 records

Saturday, October 11, 2014

Pittsburgh 23 San Diego 20

Mike Tomczak
Pittsburgh hangs on and ran out the clock as the Steelers knock the Chargers from the ranks of the unbeaten with a 23 to 20 win in Three Rivers Stadium. Backup QB Mike Tomczak completed 22 of 34 passes for 257 yards and 1TD. Next week the Steelers travel to Jacksonville to play the Jaguars and the Chargers travel to Kansas City to play the Chiefs.

Carolina 16 Tampa Bay 10

Mark Carrier
Carolina jumped out to a 13-0 halftime lead, then withstood a 2nd half rally to edge the Bucs, 16-10 in a good defensive contest. Mark Carrier scored the only touchdown for the Panthers on a 25yd catch & run.  Lawrence Dawsey scored Tampa's touchdown on a 9yd reception.  Next week, Tampa Bay returns home to host Cincinnati. Carolina travels to Chicago to face the Bears.

Cleveland 27 Buffalo 17

Mike Caldwell
Vinnie Testaverde completed 26 of 32 passes for 255yds and 2 touchdowns to lead Cleveland to a 27-17 win over the visiting Buffalo Bills.  Jim Kelly passed for 294yds and 2 touchdowns while trying to rally the Bills who fell behind after leading 10-3 in the first quarter.  The key play in the game was a 30yd pick six by LB Mike Caldwell that gave the Browns a lead they never relinquished. Next week, Buffalo returns home to host the New York Jets. Cleveland heads to Detroit to face the Lions.

Oakland 28 NY Jets 7

Terry McDaniel
EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – Jeff Hostetler (106.3 QB rating) and the Oakland Raiders took advantage of 4 Jets turnovers and cruised to a 28-7 win at the Meadowlands.
The Raiders first score, in fact the only tally in the first period, was a beautifully crafted 94-yard, 12-play drive capped by a 20-yard Hostetler to TE Kerry Cash TD grab.
Oakland (3-2) extended to a 21-0 halftime advantage on a 19-yard scoring toss from Hostetlerto Tim Brown and a Derrick Fenner 3-yard TD run.
The Jets (2-3) notched their only score with 5:43 on the clock in the 3rd with Adrian Murrelldove in from a yard out.
All-pro CB Terry McDaniel topped off the scoring for the Raiders with a 50-yard pick 6. Special mention defensively must also be given to LB Mike Jones for his 14 solo tackles, 1 stuff and 21-yard interception.
Thanks to Mohammed for working with our Pacific and Central European time zone difference.

Dallas 34 Washington 24

Emmit Smith
Emmitt Smith ran for 211 yards and 3 TDs to lead Dallas to a 34-24 win over the Redskins in Washington yesterday. Smith now has 806 yards rushing in five games. Aikman had another outstanding day  completing 21 of 30 for 224 yards and Irvin hauled in 7 catches for 137 yards as the Cowboy offense controlled the ball for 36 minutes gaining 454 yards. All was not so good on the other side of the ball as the Cowboy defense continued to struggle as they await the arrival of Deon Sanders who signed a 5-year $30 million dollar deal two weeks ago. Sanders will join the Cowboys in a few weeks when the baseball season ends.

Atlanta 20 NY Jets 0

Atlanta's Defense plays by far their best game and give Atlanta good field position most of 1st half; aided by some nice Metcalf punt returns. Atlanta's offense does just enough against a tough Jet D and go up 17-0 at half.  Atlanta in 2nd half play to not turn ball over and strategy works as Atlanta give home town fans a happy car ride home. Next week the Jets host Qakland while Atlanta host New England (guessing the pigskin will be flying!).

Cleveland 23 Kansas City 22

Matt Stover
Matt Stover kicked a 33yd field goal with 0:20secs remaining to lift Cleveland to thrilling 23-22 win over the Kansas City Chiefs.  Two minutes earlier, Lin Elliott booted a 26yd field goal that gave the Chiefs a 2 point lead.  In this back and forth game, the lead changed hands 6 times in the 2nd half alone, with neither team having more than a 6 point lead.  The Browns were able to pull the game out despite turning the ball over 3 times in the 1st quarter. Next week, Cleveland stays home to host Buffalo and Kansas City travels to Arizona to face the Cardinals.

Monday, September 29, 2014

San Francisco 37 New England 21

Patriots put an early scare in the 49ers but finally the defense settles down and SF moves to 2 - 1.

Minnesota 32 Dallas 31

Warren Moon
Minnesota drives 90 yards in the last 1:17 scoring on a Warren Moon to Amp Lee pass with 3 seconds left in the game. They win the game on a 2 point conversion on a pass to Jake Reed.

Carolina 27 St. Louis 17

Kerry Collins threw 2 touchdown passes and ran for a third to lead Carolina to a 27-17 win in their home opener.

San Diego 24 Philadelphia 16

Please disregard my first post. I didn't realize we couldn't play the computer if a sub is needed. Gene Couture stepped up and coached the Cunningham/Waters led Eagles.
Gene and the Eagles were racking up a ton of yards on a rainy Philly night and had a 16-3 lead against the baffled Chargers with 13:26 left in the game. With 4th and 3 on their own 35 yard line the Eagles punted to the Chargers. The punt returner Coleman fumbled the punt as he was laid out by the Eagles Woodward. However, in the most freakish played I have ever seen with this game, the Chargers Davis scooped up the fumble and returned it for a 93 yard TD fumble recovery to give the Chargers life down 16-10. With only 9:15 left in the game, the Eagles had the football down to the Charger 12 yard line and were about to put the game away when Ricky Waters fumbled the ball on a hit by Junior Seau at the 8 yard line and the Chargers recovered. The Chargers moved the ball out to their 26 yard line when Stan Humphries hung in the pocket and completed a 61 yard TD bomb to Tony Martin giving the Chargers a startling 17-16 come from behind lead. The Eagles were stopped on their next possession and Humphries called on Jefferson for a 44 yard TD pass to seal the deal making the final score SD 24 PHIL 16. Great game called by Gene! The Chargers go to 3-0 and the Eagles fall to 1-2.

NY Jets 24 Jacksonville 21

Boomer Esiason overcame 2 picks to lead the Jets to
victory over the Jags.
Bruce Thomas playing for NYJ all the way from Poland.....and a nice job he did.
This was a close game, and might have gone either way.  Jax failed to capitalize on 2 Boomer Esiason picks and also mismanaged the clock inside of 2 minutes, trying to go 80 yards and tie with a field goal......rookie mistakes, only my 3rd Action! PC Football game.

Miami 27 Pittsburgh 20

This one comes down to the wire as Marino hits Byars with under 2 minutes left for the victory.

Buffalo 15 Indianapolis 14

Steve Christie
A very strange, very sloppy played game, Bills edge Colts 15-14. Colts had game in hand but a Falk fumble with 3:35 left gave the Bills the ball back on their 18. A huge Kelly dump off pass to Thurman Thomas netted 43 yards to the Colt 11. Christie nailed a 31 yard FG with :24 seconds left to seal the win. For a while it appeared Shotgun Kelly was disliked as much as Bon Jovi. Now for some wings
